Forager Fall Harvest Celebration!
We closed out the busy month with our own school community harvest celebration. Held on Halloween, this afternoon celebration was a fun way to celebrate the season- in costume!- and provide a little grounding and nourishment before many families made their way to various trick-or-treating locales in our area! We were lucky to celebrate on a beautiful, sunny day sandwiched between some of the first big rains of the season.
Students and families enjoyed a costume parade, fall-themed potluck (including a student made pumpkin soup), a sensory table of unique textures hidden inside carved out pumpkins, and especially fun, face painting with help from special volunteers— last year’s graduating class! To top it all off, everyone savored a once-in--a-blue-moon seasonal treat: student-made pumpkin spice and vanilla ice cream!
With a magical October behind us, we look forward to more foraging days and seasonal learning adventures in November! We are so thankful for this special community of educational partners and all the ways the natural world continues to fuel innate curiosity and meaningful learning.
