Cheers to Year Two: We’re so happy to be here!
After a momentous five weeks of summer programming and an inspiring first year of preschool and adventure camp programming, The Forager School settled into some well-earned quiet-time and campus TLC to prepare for year two! Our team extends a huge thank you to the many community hands that wove magic and meaning into our summer adventures, and inaugural year.
During the summer our school-age Adventure Camp and preschool program visited Oz Farm, The Stone Ranch, Gualala Point State Beach, and an epic tide-pooling session at Walk On Beach in The Sea Ranch. Adventure Camp base camp brought us our first steady outdoor classroom with daily foraging adventures along the Gualala Rivery picking, redwood grove exploration, and an August full of blackberries! We are so grateful to our families and community members, thank you.
We are overjoyed to begin the 2024-25 academic year with a fully enrolled preschool program and a waitlist! Preschool life is off to an exuberant start including a welcome back potluck celebration, new staff and program introductions, and lots of student bonding and fun! We are excited to usher in our fall curriculum and get students out into the field. Throughout summer our preschoolers were in the field on a weekly basis!
A major goal in year two is to strengthen partnerships with our community to facilitate this frequency of outdoor learning and enrichment. What’s New in 2024-25
Extended Hours
To better support working families we have expanded our operating hours from 8 am to 5pm.
New Partnerships
We are thrilled to partner with Point Arena’s very own Nature’s Tune Farm for our nutrition program so we can provide students with weekly access to local and seasonal produce.
School Age Afterschool Pilot
In October we will run a pilot outdoor after school enrichment program for children ages 5 to 8 years old in collaboration with the Gualala Arts Center. To learn more about The Forager School Enrichment offerings (click here).

As a nonprofit preschool, we rely on community donations to support our programs, growth, and expansion. Join us on October 17 at The Sea Ranch Lodge for a night of fun and whimsy for our first fundraiser.
